Disney has Luke Skywalkered Obi Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan was once a confident, strong-minded and powerful Jedi and yet after ten years he is apparently… all washed up.
Ewan McGregor stars as Obi-Wan Kenobi and sadly, is the only person who can act in this series if you don’t count Joel Edgerton who makes a brief appearance as Owen Lars (Luke Skywalker’s step uncle)
Moses Ingram could be the worst actress I’ve ever seen in my life and until the series ends, I won’t be certain if her character is worse than Rose or not.
Rose was a terrible, poorly casted and boring character in the newest Star Wars sequels played by Kelly Marie Tran but at the bare minimum, she could actually act even against God-awful writing. Whereas here we have a cool idea for a character played by somebody who is just not believable in the slightest and I can’t determine which is worse yet. Every time Moses is on the screen I find myself shaking my head and losing more and more interest in the show as she constantly proves that she doesn’t belong in the series despite Ewan’s constant whining on social media.
Her acting is worthy of rivalling ‘The Room‘ in that it would be hilarious for anybody who hates Star Wars. For the rest of us, it is tragic.
Disney has taken a character, tried to make them look strong and cool whilst giving them no other personality other than ‘angry’ whilst also giving her zero flaws. This is of course the new age where all female characters have zero flaws, are perfect and if it wasn’t for these pesky men, they would have completed their goals long ago. It’s all one big eye roll and beyond cringe.
Princess Leia is played by Vivien Lyra Blair, who is so unfairly punished with such awful writing that I thought about calling child services on multiple occasions. She will mostly be remembered for her chase scenes that are so amusingly terrible. How she manages to duck and weave past all of these grown adults including the extremely clever, star of the show and master of the force, Obi-Wan Kenobi is just embarrassing to have to sit through. It is also time consuming considering you know exactly where it is going. Remember, she’s also a female character so she’s very intelligent and perfect with zero flaws.
Seeing Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader is a great moment and most scenes with him in it are decent.
I can’t forgive the terrible casting and below average plot. It’s beyond obvious nobody cares about this protecting Leia stuff when everybody knows she’s going to be fine. Instead what they have done, is introduced hateable characters and made Princess Leia self absorbed and annoying.
Now I’m far more interested in Darth Vader tearing everybody to pieces than I am in anything else going on in the series and it really says something about the writing when I’m cheering for the bad guy.
Overall, give this and all modern Star War’s shows and movies an absolute miss until they stop blaming their own faults on racism and realise that they are just awful at what they do.
